Yunnan province pulled out all the stops to canvass investors for its infrastructure construction during the 2017 Silk Road International Emporium and the 21st Investment and Trade Forum for Cooperation between East and West China held in Xi’an, Shaanxi province, on June 3.

Gao Shuxun, member of the Party committee of the Yunnan provincial government, said that the province is striving to promote infrastructure construction for transportation, aviation, energy, water and the Internet.

The province aims to build a full-fledged expressway and railway network, an international airport network and an international communications and e-commerce center, Gao added.

While consolidating its traditional pillar industries of tobacco, hydroelectric power, nonferrous metals, biology and tourism, Yunnan is also developing information materials, advanced manufacturing and tourist culture. It hopes more entrepreneurs will take part in the development of the province.

Organized by the National Development and Reform Commission, Ministry of Commerce and the All-China Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese, the five-day event has attracted more than 300 enterprises from 42 countries and regions from all over the world.
