Yunnan pharmaceutical firms shine at 2017 SSACEIF

The health and marine biopharmaceuticals pavilion attracted considerable attention during the 2017 South and Southeast Asia Commodity Expo and Investment Fair (SSACEIF), which is being held in Kunming, Yunnan province from June 12 to 18.

Comprising of more than 30 pharmaceutical companies from the province, the pavilion provided a complete picture of the provincial pharmaceutical industry, from the ingredients of traditional Chinese medicine to medical equipment. 

Wu Xiaosheng, an industry expert, said that the pavilion, which was first time the provincial pharmaceutical industry has exhibited at SSACEIF, was a demonstration of the importance Kunming city government attaches to the industry.

He claimed that Kunming is striving to develop itself into a hub for the health care industry, and hopes the favorable development environment and complementary services available in the city will help the city achieve its goal.

In recent years, pharmaceutical firms in Kunming have boosted the growth of the health care sector in the city. The output of companies above a designated size reached 14.15 billion yuan ($2.08 billion) in 2015.
