59th Mekong joint patrol and law enforcement begins

The 59th joint patrol and law enforcement operation along the Lancang-Mekong River began from Guanlei Port in Yunnan on June 20.

The operation was jointly carried out with eight vessels and 204 law enforcement personnel from China, Laos, Myanmar and Thailand.

The exercise includes a full-line patrol and sectional patrols, as well as a number of publicity and awareness-building events regarding drug control.

Since the inception of joint patrol operations, the joint patrol has cracked 22 drug-related cases, effectively preventing and combating drug crimes along the Lancang-Mekong.
