Yunnan issues meteorological plan for B&R Initiative

Yunnan Province Meteorological Bureau has recently issued an action plan to serve the Lancang-Mekong Cooperation, which is part of the on-going Belt and Road Initiative.

Specifically, the plan aims to build an integrated meteorological service system for the Lancang-Mekong River Basin, effectively enhancing disaster prevention and mitigation capability of Yunnan and countries in the region.

Other key points in the plan include providing whole-course meteorological service for overseas Chinese enterprises, improving Yunnan’s capability in providing meteorological service for South and Southeast Asian countries, supporting the Belt and Road Initiative by boosting core meteorological business and technology, and bettering meteorological exchanges and cooperation with South and Southeast Asia.
