Lincang culinary contest lures taste buds

 

From July 24-28, gourmets contested in southwest Yunnan's Lincang for titles and prizes of the "My Signature Dish•Licang Flavor" Culinary Competition. 97 local competitors brought 291 dishes including 52 special dishes and 36 special snacks to the event. 

 

After four-day competition, winners were awarded prizes of Special Banquet, Recommended Banquet, Famous Dish, Famous Snack, Signature Dish, Recommended and Best Cook. 

 

  

 

Lincang literally means a city built by the Langcang River. It boasts a mild climate, with an annual average temperature of 18.5 ℃, and a short frost period. Every year, the subtropical monsoon brings rains and moisture, making Lincang densely forested. Raw materials for food are thus abundant in Lincang and most of them are natural and organic. Whether living on mountains or by rivers, people always have an easy way to find organic food in Lincang.
