Dali Int’l photography exhibition highlights Yunnan's beauty
Nestled on a plain between the imposing the Cangshan Mountain range and the Erhai Lake, Dali old town has long been a popular destination for travellers, especially photographers.
Last Saturday, the Dali International Photography Exhibition(DIPE) kicked off here for its seventh year.
The five-day event features four activities which are the photo festival, the exhibition, photographic equipment meetup, and the 2nd DIPE Roundtable.
More than 20,000 images of photographers from all over the world have been on display, which makes the exhibition the largest ever in recent years.
Galleries from China, Japan, Spain, Norway, Germany and South and Southeast Asian countries have brought their works to the event.
Liu Ming, president of Yunnan Photographers Association, said, "DIPE covers from nature to history and culture, including subjects of Lancang-Mekong River and Yunnan-Vietnam Railway.
The exhibition is partly designed to show the rapid economic and social development of Yunnan Province from different angles."
In addition, the DIPE set up an online exhibition to complement and extend the show and let people know what exhibits are presently on view.
