Yunnan to build eight economic corridors

The Yunnan Border Towns Layout Plan (2017-2030) (hereinafter called the Plan) has been approved for implementation by the Provincial Government recently. 

The Plan positions the border areas as new growth points in the overall development pattern of Yunnan Province, important export-oriented advantage industrial bases, and China’s gateway to South and Southeast Asia, and an important land bridge between China and Eurasia.

The Plan focuses on promoting the construction of the 3 growth poles of Mangshi-Ruili, Jinghong-Mengla-Mohan and Mengzi-Hekou. It will strengthen the construction of 8 economic corridors,including Kunming-Mangshi-Ruili-Mandalay-Kyaukpyu, Kunming-Jinghong-Mohan-Vientiane-Bangkok, Kunming-Mengzi-Hekou-Hanoi-Hai Phong, Kunming-Longyang-Tengchong-Myitkyina-India, Kunming-Lincang-Mengding-Mandalay, Kunming-Pu'er-Menglian-Shan State of Myanmar, Kunming-Wenshan-Malipo-Ha Giang, Kunming-Wenshan-Funing-Beibuwan.
