Editor’s notes: On this planet, there are many kinds of bridges. Each of them has its own uniqueness and stories. What is the most beautiful and unforgettable bridge you have ever seen. Today, we introduce you to the Beipanjiang Bridge connecting Guizhou and Yunnan provinces.

565 meters above the Banpan River, the Baipanjiang Bridge spans 1,341.4 meters long, connecting Xuanwei City in Yunnan and Shuicheng County in Guizhou and making itself the world’s highest bridge.

The east and west piers of the bridge are 269 and 247 meters high respectively, and its main span is 720 meters long, the second longest in the world.

Construction of the Beipanjiang Bridge lasted four years. Since it was opened to traffic on December 26, it has cut the driving time from Xuanwei City to Guizhou’s Liupanshui City (Shuicheng County is under its jurisdiction) from five hours to one hour.
