Yunnan online buying reaches 2.56 billion yuan within 18 hours on 11.11

Named Singles Day, November 11 is originally claimed as a celebration for China's young singletons. The day is also referred to as Double Eleven Shopping Festival. Since 2009, Alibaba has turned it into a shopping bonanza.

Founded by Jack Ma in 1999, Alibaba Group is a Chinese e-commerce company that provides consumer-to-consumer, business-to-consumer and business-to-business sales services via web portals.

As of November 2017, Alibaba's market cap stood at US$486.27 billion. It is one of the top 10 most valuable and biggest companies in the world.

Tmall.com is a Chinese-language website for business-to-consumer (B2C) online retail, operated in China by Alibaba Group.

During this year’s Double Eleven, Chinese netizens spent 168.2 billion yuan, among which 2.56 billion yuan is contributed by Yunnan netizens. Compared with last year, there is an increase of around 0.2 billion yuan.
