Nanpan River Bridge links up Qiubei, Mile

Editor's notes: On this planet, there are many kinds of bridges. Each of them has its own uniqueness and stories. What is the most beautiful and unforgettable bridge you have ever seen. Today, we introduce you to the Nanpan River Bridge along the Yunnan-Guangxi High Speed Rail Line.

Connecting the Qiubei County and Mile City in Yunnan, the Nanpan River Bridge is 864 meters long and 270 meter high. It is a single-arch bridge, with its arch spanning 416 meters long. In the construction of the bridge, many of the most advanced arch bridge building technologies were used to conquer the difficulties. Since its completion, it has become the largest single-arch high-speed rail bridge for both passenger and freight transportation.

In December last year, the Yunnan-Guangxi High Speed Rail was opened to traffic. The Nanpan River Bridge, together with other parts of the rail, welcomed its first bullet train full of passengers. Running at a speed of 200 to 250 kilometers per hour, the high-speed rail trains reduced the travel time from 12 hours to five hours between Kunming, capital city of Yunnan province and Guilin, capital city of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.
