In video: “Night of Shangri-La” staged in Kunming

On the evening of November 16, the “Night of Shangri-La”, one of the activities of the 2017 China International Travel Mart was staged in Kunming. Friends and VIPs from 71 countries and regions were fascinated by the charming songs and dances performed by various Yunnan ethnic groups at the “Night” which is a gathering of happiness and beauty.

Shangri-La is a city under the jurisdiction of northwest Yunnan’s Diqing Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture. In the Tibetan language, the word “Shangri-la” literally means “the sun and the moon in heart ”. In the “Lost Horizon”, a novel written by British novelist James Hilton in the 1930s, the Shangri-La was described as a happy, quiet, external and mysterious dreamland. Today, Shangri-La has become a world famous destinations for tourists both at home and abroad.
