Yunnan launches dynamic monitoring on snob-nosed monkeys

Yunnan Province forest authorities, together with Yunnan University, the Yunnan Baima snow mountain national park and other related organizations, carryied out a dynamic monitoring project on snob-nosed monkeys on November 18, taking an initiative to do so among all Chinese provinces.

The project costs more than one million yuan, and in the coming two years a systematic monitoring over the population and distribution of the protected species will be carried out in a number of national reserves in the province.

 

The dynamic monitoring aims to make clear their living conditions of and the threatening elements to the monkeys, so as to formulate more effective protecting measures to improve their habitats and increase the population of the rare species.
