Lao, Yunnan customs work together on railway project
Yunnan Mengla Customs held a work meeting with its counterpart Lao Boten Customs in south Yunnan’s Mengla Country November 29 and 30. The two sides reached a consensus on strengthening cooperation in various aspects.
Both customs and agencies will carry out in-depth discussions, exchange information and strengthen international law enforcement targeting current risks. Together they will step up coordination of the standardized management of international trains, while also improving bilateral customs mechanisms. Two annual meetings and exchange visits will be held starting in 2018.
Since the beginning of this year, the Mohan checkpoint has opened special service windows and “green channels”, and adopted related measures to optimize its services and facilitate customs clearances for construction materials destined for the China-Laos railway project, according to officials with Mengla Customs.
