Last week, I was in Kunming, witnessing the signing and unveiling of Nepal Research Centre and Nepal Language Learning Center, Yunnan Minzu University. I’m glad and excited at the cooperation between Yunnan Daily and Jana Astha National Weekly. We’ve been expecting something like this.

---Leela Mani Paudyal, Nepalese ambassador to China

Yunnan Daily is the biggest newspaper in Yunnan and one of the most important in southwest China. I’m sure it has a lot of resources & influences which could help promoting Nepal. Yunnan also has a lot of commercial interest in Nepal. Therefore cooperation between Nepali media with the biggest & official newspaper in Yunnan will definitely help both countries.

---Zhou Xiaomei, consul of the Chinese embassy in Nepal

It gives me great pleasure to see Nepal’s leading weekly newspaper Jana Aastha publishing a dedicated page on China-Yunnan. This is really a motivating initiative to strengthen people-to-people relations of both countries particularly that of Nepal and Yunnan. In the future, I hope the news page could share with its readers topics focusing on history, culture, tourism, education. The cooperation on this genuine cause with Yunnan Daily would add mileage on connecting the people of both countries, understanding their values and further strengthening long cherished relations between governments and people.

---Laxman Datt Pant, Media Expert for UNESCO

Congratulations on the establishment of cooperation between Jana Astha National Weekly and Yunnan Daily.

---Short comment from Yubnath Lamsal, former editor-in-chief of the Rising Napal, currently serving as Nepalese ambassador to Denmark

I am so excited noticing the news! Reports about China were few in Nepal five years ago, let alone long-term and stable channels to know about China. The cooperation between Jana Aastha National Weekly and Yunnan Daily makes a new gateway for Nepalese to know China better. It is the beginning of media cooperation between both countries and I hope the bond can demonstrate different sides of China.
