Cambodian CHD kids get free cure in Kunming
Five Cambodian children with congenital heart disease (CHD) received free surgeries at Yunnan Fuwai Cardiovascular Hospital in Kunming on January 5.
The surgeries were done by a group of Chinese cardiovascular experts headed by Hu Shengshou, director of the Beijing-based Fuwai Hospital of Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences. All surgeries turned out to be success.
Another two Cambodian CHD kids also came to the Yunnan hospital for free treatment, but their conditions are different, so the surgeries are yet to be carried out.
The seven kids were among 26 Cambodian CHD children who were found out of 13,147 children in 21 local schools through an eight-day diagnosis from December 20 to 28, 2017.
12 medical workers with Yunnan Fuwai Cardiovascular Hospital, together with four local doctors and 15 volunteers, carried out the diagnostic screening in Battambang Province and its surrounding areas.
The Yunnan hospital is said to continue quality medical care to the Cambodian children, while providing convenience in their daily life. Other Cambodian CHD kids will also come to the hospital for cure.
