Yunnan, Taiwan join hands for coffee teaching and research
The Training Base of the Coffee Teaching and Research Center, jointly built by Taiwan Nanshan Coffee Company, Yunnan Aini Garden Coffee Company and Kunming University, was recently unveiled at the Aini Garden in Pu’er City, southwest Yunnan.
The base aims to teach coffee-making skills, train local coffee talents, and promote the brands and culture realted to Yunnan coffee.
Pu'er is a world-class coffee growing area, and by introducing in Taiwan’s coffee breeding experiences, the coffee quality in Yunnan can be further improved, said head of the Taiwan coffee company. “At the same time, we hope to help sell Yunnan coffee to all parts of the world through cooperation with colleges and enterprises in Yunnan.”
The agreement on jointly building the Coffee Teaching and Research Center was reached during the 6th Yunnan-Taiwan Seminar in June 2017. On March 22, 2018, the coffee center was unveiled at Kunming University. The university will build classrooms for coffee startups and introduce in Taiwan's fine coffee-making courses to train more baristas.
The center’s training base, showcasing the whole course of coffee production and featuring close cooperation with Kunming university,consists of a coffee exposition garden and a coffee gene pool under Yunnan Aini Group. Founded in Mar. 2006, the group is mainly engaged in the industries of livestock, coffee and catering.
