5th China-South Asia Expo to open for the public on June 15-20
The 5th China-South Asia Exposition and the 25th China Kunming Import & Export Fair will open in Kunming, Yunnan Province on June 14. From June 15 to 20, the expo and fair will be open for the public.
The events are jointly organized by the Chinese Ministry of Commerce and the People's Government of Yunnan Province.
Themed “Integrating into the Belt and Road Initiative and Promoting Win-win Cooperation”, the expo will see Afghanistan serve as the Theme Country, with Myanmar being the Country of Honor.
At the Kunming Dianchi International Convention & Exhibition Center, around 8,500 standard booths will be set up within an exhibiting area of 190,000 square meters, over 40 percent of which will be covered by foreign exhibits. These figures represent a record high over the past expo sessions.
The year’s expo features the First China-South Asia Cooperation Forum,which will be held at Hilton Yuxi Fuxian Lake from June 13 to 15. The organizers involve the Chinese Ministry of Commerce, the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the People's Government of Yunnan Province.
During the expo, the 2018 China-South & Southeast Asia Arts Week and Lancang-Mekong Arts Festival will also be held at the exhibition center and Yunnan Literature and Art Museum. More than 1,000 artists from 26 countries will come to the gathering, and 61 of them will stage live performances.
