Foreign-aid seminars open at Yunnan training base

The 2018 Seminar on Border Security Cooperation for ASEAN Region and the 2018 Seminar on Cross-border Economic Cooperation for Developing Countries opened in Kunming, Yunnan Province on October 16. The seminars are sponsored by Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China and organized by Yunnan International Center for Economic and Technical Exchanges, also called Yunnan Training Base for Aiding Foreign Officials (YTBAFO).

The two seminars were attended by 49 officials from 13 countries including Botswana, Uganda and Indonesia. Corresponding to the seminar themes, the Yunnan base will invite experts and scholars from the Chinese government, universities and related fields to present the achievements of China's economic development and experiences in other fields. In addition, the seminar participants will visit relevant institutions and enterprises in Yunnan and beyond for talks and exchanges, so as to increase their understanding to the training programs. 

Representatives of the seminar participants showed their appreciation to the Chinese government and the organizer at the opening. Seeing the seminars as an opportunity for cooperation between China and their countries, they said they will cherish the opportunity, learn from China’s development experience, and contribute to the development of their own countries.
