Yunnan takes measures to increase foreign trade
Yunnan has put forward multiple measures to achieve steady growth in foreign trade at a symposium in Kunming May 31. The discussion was joined in by representatives of the key foreign trade enterprises in Yunnan.
In the first four months of 2019, Yunnan's foreign trade volume increased by 10.1% year on year, which was driven by export of major products to key markets. However, the business environment, overall trade volume and trade composition remain to be improved.
For the days to come this year, the province will further build the Luosiwan international market into a pilot for conducting market procurement and trade, while stepping up measures to prevent and control the diseases spread by cross-border animals.
Completing the promotional program of the "ever-lasting China-South Asia Expo," Yunnan aims to bring in more south and southeast Asian businesses. And more overseas warehouses, such as the one in Dubai, will be build up to store Yunnan-featured produces for export.
Also, Yunnan will import in bulk crude oil, natural gas, metal ore and soy beans, using the China International Import Expo to expand imports and exports.
By encouraging local enterprises to participate in overseas exhibitions, Yunnan will further tap the markets in Southeast Asia and South Asia. During the coming 2019 South and Southeast Asia Commodity Expo and Investment Fair (SSACEIF), Yunnan Provincial Department of Commerce will hold promotional meetings to bridge Yunnan companies and their foreign counterparts.
To better serve local companies, Yunnan business authorities will carefully analyze the monthly reports on import and export, which are submitted by 300 major enterprises in international trade.
In building up comprehensive pilot zones for cross-border e-commerce, Yunnan will increase oversights, care for enterprises and upgrade industrial parks, so as to turn international e-commerce into a new height for foreign trade.
Yunnan will strengthen its facilities for foreign trade and serve as a national pilot in upgrading foreign trade.
Encouraging enterprises to build international marketing networks, Yunnan will also set up high-end international marketing platforms with sound facilities, professional services, and great potential for growth.
Meanwhile, the province will foster new modes of foreign trade and support enterprises in enhancing their international competitiveness and providing all-round services for foreign trade.
