Yunnan, Israel further cooperate in agriculture

Modern agricultural cooperation between Yunnan and Israel is going deeper, according to the 2019 Yunnan-Israel Modern Agriculture Exchange Seminar in Kunming, Yunnan province on July 12. 

As a sideline of the 2019 Kunming International Flower Expo (KIFE), where Israel served as the honored country, the exchange seminar aims to facilitate China-Israel agricultural investment and trade negotiations for common development. 

Topics at the seminar focused on water-saving irrigation, greenhouse technology, fertilizer use, plant protection and breed cultivation, with modern agriculture discussed in relation to internationally-advanced technologies. 

In the eyes of Israeli merchants, Yunnan holds locational advantages under the Belt and Road cooperation, being Israel's top destination for investment in China. 

Israeli agricultural technologies in drip irrigation and flower and fruit cultivation have been introduced to Yunnan in recent years. A leading fertilizer company from Israel forged cooperation with the Yunnan-based Yuntianhua Group.
