The first batch of exhibits from Italy, Vanuatu and the Czech Republic for the second China International Import Expo (CIIE) have been shipped, and are expected to arrive in Shanghai in early October, according to the CIIE Bureau.

The first batch of Italian exhibits was shipped from the Port of Genoa on Sept. 2. This year, Italy will participate in the exhibition as a guest of honor.

Over 120 excellent Italian enterprises will participate in this year's expo, covering areas including equipment, automotive, high-end consumer products, science and technology, health care and agricultural products.
With an exhibition area of about 6,600 square meters, Italy ranks second largest in terms of exhibition area and number of companies participating among European countries.

Reports confirm that Vanuatu, a country located in the southwestern Pacific Ocean, will bring distinctive Kava wine, coffee beans and natural mineral water, while the Czech Republic will introduce high-quality crystals and food.

Logistics schemes have been tailored to guarantee the quality of exhibits. For example, whole-process constant-temperature transport was provided for cosmeceuticals and supplements from Italy, and specially-designed food containers were used for products from Vanuatu.

So far, over 3,000 enterprises from more than 150 countries and regions have confirmed their participation in the second expo. The total exhibition area will be more than 300,000 square meters this year.
