First Lashio Border Trade Fair to be held in Myanmar
The 1st Myanmar (Lashio) - China (Lincang) Border Trade Fair is scheduled to take place in Lashio, the capital city of Northern Shan state in Myanmar, from November 21 to 24.
This fair is jointly held by the Myanmar Trade Promotion Organization, Myanmar International Commercial Center, Department of Commerce of Yunnan Province and local government sectors from both Shan State and Lincang city. At present, the preparations are underway.
Themed the Belt and Road and “Paukphaw” (sibling-like) tie, the fair will encompass a wide range of events, such as signing ceremony, evening gala, product exhibition and art performance. A Chinese delegation which consists of over 200 government officials, businessmen and artists plans to attend the fair, with an aim not only to promote local produces of Lincang, but celebrate the close and long-lasting friendship between China and Myanmar.
The Lashio Border Trade Fair is considered an extended platform through which enterprises and individuals from the two countries are able to share the fruit of regional economic development, consolidate their brotherhood, as well as contributing to the constructions of the Belt and Road and China-Myanmar Economic Corridor together.
The authorities have come to an agreement that Lashio and Lincang city in southwest Yunnan will take turns to host this event. And the 2nd fair will be held in Lincang next year in 2020.
