10th blood-donation month launched in Kunming
The 10th Blood-Donation Month of Kunming Medical Staff was launched at Yunnan Maria Hospital in Kunming on January 3, in a bid to provide sufficient blood supply for those in need. The charitable activity will last until February 28.
"Around 30 percent of the staff members in our hospital have signed up to denote the blood today, and we hope more people will join us for the good of others," said Li Jihong, director of the hospital.
At a blood-donation bus, the head nurse of Ma Lihui raised her sleeves for the 23rd donation in her life. "We have many ways to help others, but donating blood makes a special way," said Ma.
In the past ten years, Kunming has seen an increasing number of citizens joining in the charitable cause of blood donation, with 2.71 million milliliters of blood collected from 9,391 in 2019.
