Yunnan sees 6 mln tourist trips in Dragon Boat Festival
During Dragon Boat Festival holiday that lasted from June 25 to 27, Yunnan province received a total of 6.066 million tourists, a decrease of 23.8% year on year.
The visitors brought the province a tourism revenue of 5.03 billion yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 21.4% due mainly to the impact of the on-going Covid-19 pandemic.
During the holiday, local tourist authorities imposed limits on the number of tourists, so as to rid of possible epidemic outbreaks. Across Yunnan, a variety of merry-making activities were held at local scenic areas to spur consumption.
Up to now, more than 90% of the first-class tourist attractions in Yunnan have been reopened, and 50.43% of the travel agencies have resumed service. Most hotels and theaters have resumed business activities.
The number of driving tours in the province reached 3.329 million, equivalent to 90% of that in the same period last year.
No serious tourist complaints, accidents or new Covid-19 cases were found during the holiday.
