A Chinese association announced on Thursday that it, together with prestigious institutes from home and abroad, will solicit articles on climate investment and finance from all over the world in its efforts to look for theoretical innovation and good practices that could help tackle global warming.

The Climate Investment and Finance Association of the Chinese Society for Environmental Sciences unveiled the initiative, "Climate Investment and Finance Article Call 2020", in an online ceremony to celebrate the country's Low Carbon Day on Thursday.

Xie Zhenhua, China's former special representative for climate change affairs, and Ernesto Zedillo, former president of Mexico and director of the Yale Center for the Study of Globalization, will co-chair an expert panel for the review of collected articles.

"I encourage all prospective respondents to this call to apply their talents to produce research and concrete ideas that can be translated into more enlightened and effective policies," Zedillo said.

The initiative aims to pool global wisdom and foster an atmosphere for research on climate investment and finance, according to the association.

The panel consists of experts from more than 20 top universities in the world, as well as 12 prestigious journals in finance, economics, energy and environmental research.

The solicitation for articles was jointly initiated and organized by the association, University of Edinburgh Business School, the Bartlett School of Construction and Project Management of University College London, School of Management and Economics of Beijing Institute of Technology, and Institutes of Science and Development of the Chinese Academy of Sciences.
