Kunming puts to traffic two more metro lines
The Kunming Metro Line 4 and the second phase of Line 6 were opened for initial operation on September 23, increasing the city’s subway mileage by 50.7 kilometers.
So far, the metro mileage in Kunming, capital of Yunnan province, has reached 139.4 kilometers. The metro lines formed a transit network that links up the city’s central districts with its airport, railway stations, and coach stations.
The second section of Line 6 starts from TangziXiang, with a length of 7.28 kilometers. Equipped with 4 stations, the metro section is connected with the line’s first part, which has been in operation since 2012.
Reach Kunming Changshui International airport, Line 6 remains in operation from 6: 20 to 23: 00.
Metro Line 4 starts at Jinchuan Road Station and ends at Kunming South Railway Station, passing through the six Kunming districts of Wuhua, Gaoxin Panlong, Guandu, Jingkai and Chenggong.
With a total length of 43.4 kilometers and 29 stations, the line operates from 6: 20 to 22: 45. A one-way trip can last as long as 75 minutes.
