Annual sales of Luxi vegetables exceed 3 billion yuan
Since supplying vegetables to the G20 Hangzhou summit in 2016, east Yunnan’s Luxi County has increased vegetable growing, with its annual vegetables sales exceeding 3 billion yuan and the acreage reaching 13,000 hectares.
“Employing over 460 workers, our company sells 150 tons of vegetable to places across China,” said Cai Anyu, general manger of the Yunnan Lvyuan Agricultural Company. In the county, a total of 160,000 households are involved in vegetable growing.
Luxi is China’s top producer of green onions, and its vegetables are mainly sold to the coastal Chinese cities of Shanghai, Guangzhou and Hongkong, as well as to Malaysia and other neighboring countries.
