Yunnan's foreign trade up 59.7 percent in Q1
Yunnan's foreign trade grew by 59.7 percent, year on year, to reach 74.21billion yuan (around 11.38 billion U.S. dollars) in the first quarter of 2021, Kunming Customs said on April 15.
Given the Covid-19 infliction last year, the trade volume of the first quarter was also compared with that of 2019, and it still represented a 49-percent increase.
The province's foreign trade with the Belt and Road countries grew by 24.8 percent year on year, to reach 43.26 billion yuan. Consumers in 62 BRI countries now have quick access to Yunnan fruits, flowers, vegetable, wild mushrooms and more.
“Over 3,000 tons of our oranges have been ordered by fruit dealers with a value of 20 million yuan,” said Zeng Zhijun, head of the Yunfu Fruit Company in west Yunnan’s Binchuan county. The oranges are mostly exported to Vietnam, Thailand and Malaysia.
