Yunnan wild fungi sold across China via bullet trains
As numerous wild fungi reached the market these days, the demand for high-speed railway transportation has increased, and China Railway Kunming Group provided special services to allow the fungi to be sold to Chinese localities outside Yunnan.
6 tons of Yunnan wild fungi need to be sold daily around China by high-speed rail express thanks to rich rainfalls this summer. The ongoing Covid epidemic has decreased the passenger flow, and the group adjusted the transport service mode by reserving carriages for Yunnan wild fungi.
“The wild fungi transported by high-speed railway are mainly matsutake from Shangri-La and Lijiang in northwest Yunnan, and the fast trains are punctual and efficient in delivering the wild fungi across the country,” said the person in charge of the Kunming railway group.
The wild fungi rail express service was tentatively set from August 8 to 13, and a total of 20 compartments on 20 bullet trains have been left to transport 30 tons of Yunnan fungi from Kunming to Beijing, Nanchang, Fuzhou, Xiamen and Nanning.
Besides matsutake, the Kunming railway group has also launched express services to help flowers and other Yunnan specialties to reach the vast consumer market nationwide in recent years. The group is planning to transport even more Yunnan goods in the future.
