COP 15: Unexpected visitors drop in at the police camp of Mohan

Two adult elephants and their baby paid an unexpected visit to the police station of the Mohan border checkpoint, south Yunnan’s Xishuangbanna Dai autonomous prefecture, on Sept 13.

They also wandered in a nearby vegetable farm and had some food at leisure there. The curious baby elephant even interacted with the police dog in the cage.

"While working, we looked through the window and saw three elephants enter the camp. Wielding its might nose, one grown-up knocked down a coconut tree for the fruit," said He Jianguo, chief of the Mohan checkpoint.

The elephant family left the police camp and went back to the nature at around 8:00 pm.
