Booster shot rollout begins in Yunnan

Yunnan province has rolled out Covid-19 booster shots for targeted groups to strengthen their immunity to the virus.
 
The third vaccine doses will be made available for people aged over 18 who have already been fully vaccinated for at least six months, according to local medics.
 
Doctors, teachers, custom officers and others at high risk of infection will be given priority for the additional vaccination. Those aged over 60 or living in the 25 border counties in Yunnan will also get booster shots.
 
Provincial CDC experts said immunity of the jabs against Covid would go down following vaccination, and clinical tests had proved that the booster shots are safe and have no serious side effects.
 
The interval between flu vaccination and booster shot should be more than 14 days, noted the medics.
