Line 5 of Kunming metro opens to traffic
Line 5 of Kunming metro opened to traffic on June 29, giving new impetus to socio-economic development of the Spring City in central Yunnan province.

Initiating at the World-Expo Garden in northwest Kunming’s Panlong district, Line 5 passes through the districts of Wuhua and Xishan and ends at the Kunming Dianchi International Convention and Exhibition Center in Guandu district.
Equipped with 22 underground stations, the 26.45-km line is linked to Line 2 and Line 4 at North Railway Station, connecting with Line 3 at Wuyi Road Station.

Line 5 is in operation from 6:20am to 22:55pm daily, and its 26 trains will run at an interval of 6 minutes during rush hours.
The line has increased Kunming metro’s mileage to 165.85 kilometers, ranking 19th among Chinese mega cities.
