10,000 plus yuan's worth of prinsepia utilis rogle oil made in northwest Yunnan’s Diqing Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture was exported to the oversea market via Shangri-La Customs.
Cultivation of the prinsepia utilis rogle has developed into an agro-business in Diqing over the years. And this export marks the beginning of the prefecture’s edible oil to hit the international market.
Allegedly discovered by Dr. Joseph Rock, a famous Austrian-American botanist, in his 27-year exploration in northwest Yunnan, Prinsepia utilis Royle is a wild oil shrub native to Diqing and its surrounding Himalayan regions.
