Lijiang show liked by diplomat in Pakistan

“The Impression of Lijiang is performed by more than 500 actors from 16 natural villages with 11 different ethnic minorities,” twittered Zhang Heqing on June 9. Zhang is cultural counselor of the Chinese Embassy in Pakistan.

First debuting in 2006, the outdoor show of Impression Lijiang has been staged regularly for visitors at the foot of the Yulong/jade-dragon Snow Mountain in northwest Yunnan.

At an altitude of 3,100 meters, the performing site is embraced by meadows and white clouds, giving off an immense sense of natural beauty.

Directed by Zhang Yimou, Wang Chaoge and Fan Yue, the show features Lijiang folk songs, dances and rituals.
