Flower market shows signs of recovery

With local tourism rebounds, a flower market in Kunming, Yunnan province, has given off signs of continuous recovery.

As a variety of flowers were again placed at the Donan market, visitors were everywhere in the market, wearing hand-woven flower garlands and holding bunches of flowers.

Data from Meituan shows that since July, the searching volume for "Dounan" in Kunming has increased by 51% year on year, and by 107% compared with that in June.

In Kunming, flowers have been a daily necessity among folks, functioning as gifts, home decorations, or simply something pleasant. Now, local residents tend to order flowers online.

Dounan is the largest fresh-cut flower market in Asia, occupying 70% of the market share in 80 Chinese cities. It ushers in more than 1,600 varieties of fresh-cut flowers every day.

The flower market was selected as a national district for nighttime consumption on July 18, by the Chinese Ministry of Culture and Tourism.
