Mrema: Chinese wisdom and approach for mountain future

On the occasion of a side event of the on-going COP15 in Montreal, Elizabeth Maruma Mrema, executive secretary of the Convention on Biological Diversity of the United Nations shared her views on the mountainous ecosystem. The side event themed on the Future Mountain Community for the post-2020 Global Biodiversity Framework.

“The mountains are integral part of the terrestrial ecosystem,” said Ms. Mrema, adding the shared future for mountains and human matters. She hoped that the voices of mountain people from Kunming and across the globe could be fully heard.
