Legal service unveiled in Pu’er for man-elephant affairs

China's first "Legal Service Point for Human-Elephant Harmony" was unveiled in Simao district, southwest Yunnan’s Pu'er city on March 9, in a bid to better protect biodiversity in the province.

The northbound elephants in Yunnan presented global audience a picture of man-nature coexistence last year, allowing local judicial departments to study carefullly on man-elephant conflicts, as well as compensation caused by the giants.

In the legal services, Simao court will join hands with local procuratorate, judicial bureau, forestry bureau and others for information sharing and co-governance.
