Hard-won gains against COVID-19 resurgence achieved in China's Jilin
Northeast China's Jilin City has cut off all COVID-19 transmission chains in communities, based on the results of its latest citywide nucleic acid testing.
The city, which has been hit hard by COVID-19 resurgence, reported its first locally transmitted case of this outbreak on March 2. It had registered more than 13,700 confirmed cases by the end of Sunday.
Local medical workers, along with medics from other provincial-level regions, community workers and volunteers have supported the city's battle against the virus.
According to the local government, the gradual resumption of normal life and production in the city is expected to follow the halted transmission of COVID-19 in communities. Areas under closed management will continue to implement relevant COVID-19 prevention and control measures.
