China Tourism Day sees beauty of Yunnan culture

The 2022 "China Tourism Day" Yunnan event was recently staged in the Kunming-based Yunnan Ethnic Village. At the promotional event, typical Yunnan cultural products of go pieces, paper-cutting, leather carving and tile cats were exhibited on the venue. With folk songs and dances performed, residents saw the integration of local culture and tourism, while tourists sensed the charm of Yunnan's multi-ethnic culture.

Following the "China Tourism Day" event in Kunming, the Yunnan tourism departments at the city and county levels joined hands with scenic areas and travel agencies in offering the public cultural and tourist vouchers, organizing publicity activities of public welfare and marketing tourist products for the benefit of the people. Covering tourist attractions, accommodation, entertainment, transportation, tourist routes and more, the activities spurred tourism consumption and created better travel packages for tourists.

In the same period, all cities and prefectures in Yunnan province carried out four innovative promotions: tourism promotion by social-media networks, live stream promotion by tour guides across the province, online promotion by tourists in Yunnan and SMS promotion by mobile communication networks.

At present, Yunnan is reviving its tourist sector on the premise of effective prevention and control of Covid-19 outbreaks. The activities aim to promote tourism via experiencing Chinese culture and enhancing cultural confidence. Through encouraging tourism consumption among the public, warming up the market and enhancing confidence in tourism, the promotions created a good air for people to be part of Yunnan tourism and help local tourism recover and revive.

In the future, relevant departments of Yunnan will further implement the policies and measures of aiding those in need and reviving tourism as soon as possible. New patterns of cultural tourism development will be reconstructed via optimizing the business environment and creating brands for cultural tourism. Also, Yunnan will develop rural tourism and improve the overall profile of Yunnan as a paradise for tourists.
