2022 CITM to open in Yunnan soon
The 2022 China International Travel Mart (CITM) will take place in Kunming, Yunnan province from July 22 to 24.
The CITM is the biggest of its kind in Asia.
The year’s event is jointly hosted by Ministry of Culture and Tourism, Civil Aviation Administration of China and Yunnan Provincial People’s Government.
The preparations for the CITM are progressing smoothly, including Covid-19 prevention, exhibition layout, investment promotion, and more. Here are the basics of the travel fair.
The CITM covers 70,000 square meters, where 2,500 stands will be set up.
The CITM will designate exhibition areas for cultural tourism, health living, sports tourism, tourist consumption, Chinese provinces, tourist companies, heritages, smart tourism, new business modes and overseas destinations.
The event will usher in exhibitors from 31 Chinese provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities, as well as those from 70 plus countries and regions. Over 200 tourist businesses will join the event physically or virtually.
The CITM will feature an innovative development forum on smart tourism and an displaying area for museums. The highlights are as follows.
Science and technology
A forum on smart tourism will be initiated, focusing on innovative development and displaying new technologies in the field.
Integrated exhibition areas
Largely for displaying products, the exhibition areas will put together booths, services, buyers and visitors, facilitating communication and business deals.
Innovations in exhibition
The forums and conferences will be held in the exhibition areas, so that participants can visit the exhibition and experience services, putting their theories into practice.
Free communication
Global tourist businesses will communicate freely online via video and voice.
Displaying area for museums
Cultural institutions such as the Palace Museum, the National Museum and the Shaanxi Provincial Museum have showed their willingness to attend the CITM, presenting new trends in culture-tourism integration.
