11.46 mil train trips to be made in Yunnan

Yunnan province is expected to see 11.46 million train trips during this year's summer travel rush, which will last for 62 days from July 1 to Aug 31.

Increased by 13 percent year on year, the summer’s railway trips represent 70 percent of those in 2019, the year right before the Covid-19 pandemic.

Most folks will travel to Pu’er and Xishuangbanna in south Yunnan via the China-Laos railway, or to Chonqing, Hubei and Henan in central China via the direct bullet trains from Kunming.
