Live stream talk staged at CICPE, focusing on China-Thailand cooperation

Yunnan International Communication Center for South and Southeast Asia staged a live stream English talk on July 27, during the ongoing second China International Consumer Products Expo (CICPE) in Haikou, south China's Hainan province.
Inviting in diplomat, IR scholar and journalists from Yunnan, Hainan and Thailand, the online talk focused on new cooperation possibilities in the China-Thailand field of consumption.

Oranuch Wannapinyo, commercial consul of Royal Thai Consulate-General in Guangzhou, said Thai businesses brought durian masks, essential oil and more to the CICPE, expecting Chinese consumers to know more about Thai cosmetics.
When it came to the RCEP pact and China-Laos railway, Oranuch believed that these infrastructures would boost China-Thailand trade, especially the trade between Yunnan, Hainan and Thailand.

Olga Sapunova, an international communication officer with Hainan International Media Center, visited Thailand and Yunnan many times.
In Olga’s eyes, Yunnan features diverse ethnic cultures and pristine landscapes, and she hoped the beautiful province to be known to more tourists.

Muangphum Harnsiripetch, a PhD candidate majoring international relations at Nanjing University, also a social influencer in Thailand, was quite optimistic about the funding stones and future trends in China-Thailand consumption.
“The CICPE in Hainan is good for Thai businesses to know about the consumer market in China, and thus conducive to bilateral trade and economic recovery in the two countries,” said Muangphum.

During the live stream, Liu Ziyu, a journalist with Yunnan International Communication Center for South and Southeast Asia, visited a Thai specialty store in downtown Kunming.
The store assistant said the boss chose Yunnan as a destination for business because of the geographic proximity and food-cultural similarity, both contributing factors to the thriving Thai business in China.
