Int’l writers compete for Dianchi literary award

The 18th Dianchi Literary Awarding Ceremony was held in Kunming, Yunnan province recently. More than 100 guests from home and abroad witnessed this literary event online and offline.

The annual Dianchi Literature Award was established in 2003 by "Dianchi" literary magazine. The winners were selected from the works published by the magazine in the previous year. So far, more than 90 outstanding writers from China and Southeast Asia have won the award.

Founded in 1979, "Dianchi" magazine has witnessed growth of Chinese literature in the new era. In 2018, the magazine became the first in Chinese mainland to solicit contributions from 11 countries in Southeast Asia.

Up to now, "Dianchi" has published 23 issues of Southeast Asian literature in Chinese, with authors from Thailand, Vietnam, Myanmar, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Philippines and others.
