Sub-center for int’l communication unveiled in Honghe
The first branch of Yunnan International Communication Center for South and Southeast Asia was inaugurated in south Yunnan’s Honghe Hani and Yi autonomous prefecture on October 8, with a forum on the roaming elephants concurrently held.

A north-bound herd of Yunnan elephants travelled from Xishuangbanna to Honghe and Kunming on the occasion of the UN COP15 meeting last year, causing a sensation among global media outlets.

Bordering Vietnam, Honghe prefecture is home to the Jianshui purple pottery, the Linan ancient city, the Maandi butterfly valley and the famed Hani terraced rice fields. The sub-center is expected to let these attractions better known to the international audience.
