Xi's remarks on food security

The right to subsistence comes first among all human rights. And as President Xi Jinping said, "of all things, eating matters most, and food is the basic necessity of the people."
Food security has long been a matter of concern for Xi. Since 2013, Xi has on many occasions stressed the importance to secure adequate food for the people.
