The renowned British photographer Michael Freeman staged a photo exhibition in northwest Yunnan’s Lijiang on June 3rd.

With the theme of "Yunnan through Michael Freeman lens”, the photo show will last until the end of August this year. The exhibition displays more than 30 photographs taken by Michael all over Yunnan, showing the beautiful nature in Lijiang and the relics related to the Ancient Tea-horse Road sections in Yunnan.

In 2008, Michael started the exploration and filming of the Ancient Tea-horse Road in China. After the publication of the book “Tea Horse Road: China's Ancient Trade Road to Tibet” in 2011, he continued to study and film the ancient tea-horse road.

"Lijiang is an important hub on the trade route, and its scenery, people and food deeply attracted me." Michael hoped that people would know more about Lijiang's multiculturalism and unique charm through his works.

During his photography career of more than 50 years, Michael Freeman has traveled all over the world and written articles for a number of international publishers. He has published more than 150 books, and nearly 5 million copies were sold.
