After the end of Gaokao comes summer vacation. This year's Dragon Boat Festival holiday is expected to continue the boosting tourism seen during the May Day holiday. Graduation trips will peak, and short-distance trips within 2 hours is popular.

According to data from Tuniu Travel Website, domestic long-distance trips account for 59% of the total, followed by short-distance trips and outbound trips, accounting for 28% and 13% respectively.

A spokesperson from Tuniu explained that most users who choose domestic long-distance trips are to escape the summer heat. Destinations such as Yunnan, Xinjiang, Qinghai, Gansu, Inner Mongolia, and others, have become ideal choices for their pleasant scenery and comfortable climate. The festival themed travel products are also getting popular, as many tourists hope to experience traditions and savor local cuisine.

As temperature continues to rise, "island tours" have become the preferred choice for many tourists during the Dragon Boat Festival.

Data from Meituan, a retailing corporation for dining and touring, shows that as of June 9, the volume of travel bookings, including hotels, guesthouses, attractions, and transportation for the Dragon Boat Festival holiday has increased by over 600% compared to the previous year. Among them, Qingdao topped the destinations, having surpassed several popular tourist cities.

The peak of graduation trips is coming. This summer, family trips will bounce back following the end of Gaokao, and the travel peak will begin soon as the Dragon Boat Festival holiday starts.
