Tourism boosts for upcoming Spring Festival
As the week-long Spring Festival Holiday, or the Chinese lunar new year, is coming, the cultural tourism market in many places of China is making a big comeback. Many tourist attractions has created new consumption choices for tourists.
“More and more tourists are coming to Sanya,” said Wang Yu, working in tourism in Sanya city, Hainan province. “I’m busy now, receiving 3 groups of tourists this morning.”
According to the data provided by Sanya Phoenix International Airport, the airport has launched 5,689 passenger flights from Jan. 1st to Jan 15, an increase of 2.8% year on year. And the passenger throughput has reached 929,000, up by 15.3% .
“We will keep on improving our governance on tourism industry by ensuring everything goes on smoothly,” said Chen Zhenmin, the Director of Sanya Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism. “We will provide quality consumer service to make sure everyone’s having fun here.”
In Yunnan province, homestay hotels in Dali old town and ecological corridors are getting popular. The occupancy is increasing. “Rooms were almost fully reserved,” said Li Donghan, owner of the Dali Jushangshi Homestay Hotel.
“There are more than 7000 hotels of various kinds in Dali,”said Li Haizhong, the Chief of Dali Hotel Association. The overall reservation rate of homestay hotels is high, with some high-standard homestay hotels exceeding 90%.”
Xi’an city, capital of Shaanxi province, has attracted many tourists. It used to be the capital of ancient China for over a thousand years, and now many scenic spots has improved their tourist services.
The person in charge of Xi’an Ancient City Wall Scenic Spot said that the average daily number of visitors received during the New Year’s holiday this year was about 10,000, which has returned to 80% of the passenger flow during the same period before the pandemic.
Yabuli Ski Resort of Harbin, Heilongjiang province, is receiving an increasing number of tourists. “The snow mountain is high and the ski runs here are long enough,” said Cao Ning, a regular tourist from Beijing.
According to the data, the resort has received an average of 2,200 visitors per day since New Year's Day this year, an increase of 145% year on year.
"The occupancy rate in the past month has remained above 90%, more than twice as high as the same period last year," said Wang Lijun, the person in charge of a homestay hotel in Yabuli Ski Resort,“ adding the occupancy rate for the Spring Festival holiday is estimated to be even higher.
"There are more and more supporting entertainment around the resort, such as forest hot springs, horse-drawn sledge and forest trains, which will also make more tourists stay longer," added Wang.
