Lijiang airport sees passenger traffic grow by 256%

The Lijiang airport in northwest Yunnan has handled 2.769 million passengers from January to May this year, representing a year-on-year increase of 256% and recovering to level of the same period in 2019.

The airport has also seen 21,800 landings and taking offs of flights and 5,246 tons of cargo throughput over the past five months, up by 181.9% and 81.7% year-on-year.

With direct flights to coastal Chinese cities resumed earlier this year, Lijiang airport now has access to 94 cities.
