University president receives 20,000 messages from students

At the recent graduation ceremony and degree awarding at Wuhan University of Business, President Kong Jianyi said that he has received about 20,000 short messages from students since September 2021, when he gave his mobile phone number to all students.

"As the president, I am willing to listen to each one of you. You can send me messages,” said Kong. “Whether you leave your name or not, I will reply."

Most of the messages were suggestions or requests on school construction, such as adding reading rooms for those who will sit for postgraduate entrance exams or extending the closing time of the library.

The president has taken actions to meet the students' reasonable needs.

"Replying to each text message is a hard work but I think it's worth the effort,” said Kong. “And through texts, I can connect with the students more.”
